Brass & Percussion Workshops with the Best of Brass Quintet!

With the support of the Regional Arts Development Fund, and together with the Best of Brass quintet, Kirwan State High School and Brisbane Brass Specialists, Townsville Brass will be holding a Brass Band Festival. We expect to offer 3 or 4 different levels of workshops to cater for the Brass and Percussion players of North Queensland. Whether you started playing this year (and have a range of at least 6 notes) or have been playing for many years, there is a spot for you. 

This is a fantastic opportunity to play together in a non-competitive environment and to be mentored by the members of the Best of Brass quintet. 

A variety of workshops will be held at KIRWAN STATE HIGH SCHOOL Campus on Saturday and Sunday morning. On Sunday afternoon, workshop participants will perform in an open-air concert at the Anzac Park Band Rotunda, located on the Strand.  This concert will be open to the public.

What to Wear:          

           Workshops: Casual comfortable clothes

           Anzac Park Band Rotunda Concert: Band/music uniform or school uniform, or all black

What to bring: 

         Instrument, water bottle, valve oil. Pegs, pencil, display folder. 

         Music Performance uniform for the concert on Sunday.

Lunches:                    

         Sausage sizzle and soft drinks available for purchase OR BYO food and drink.         

Participants with special dietary requirements will need to BYO food or make other arrangements for lunch.
